ABOUT GUIDO

GUIDO COPPIS (Venray, 1998) is a self-taught filmmaker who was born in the small town of Venray, the Netherlands.

After finding out that attending the Netherlands Film Academy was not an option, he effectively created his own film school by making no less than fourteen short films in recent years, many of which have won awards. Some of these short films include Stille Storm (2018) and Voor het Slapen Gaan (2021), for which he won awards for Best Short Film at the Limburg Film Festival. He was selected by the Dutch Film Fund for their screenwriting talent development programme which resulted in his first feature.

At the tender age of 25, he made his feature film debut with BIJT, which premiered at IFFR 2024 in the Bright Future program and will be released in Dutch cinemas in June 2024.
